PIŠKOTKI & ZASEBNOST
The discovery of the spring of beneficial thermal mineral water dates back more than six decades when, instead of oil, hot water came flowing from the Moravci wells. On 7 September 1962, a chemical analysis performed by a Swedish institute confirmed that water in Moravci was medicinal – two decades later, spa tourism began to flourish.
Almost four decades ago Moravci was renamed to Moravske Toplice, which is now the administrative centre of the area and also the seat of a municipality of the same name, founded almost twenty years ago.
Due to amount of accommodation on offer and its cuisine, the town’s initial rural character changed to being tourism focused. Today there are more than 400,000 overnight stays annually.
May your experience in Moravske Toplice be accompanied by the story of the thermal mineral water, by numerous outdoor recreational experiences, and by exploring the immediate and wider surroundings with visits to unspoiled nature in the area protected by Natura 2000 and the Goričko Nature Park.
