PIŠKOTKI & ZASEBNOST
Filovci features two live cultural monuments, i.e. the indigenous Pannonian thatched-roof houses, including the Potter's House (Slovenian: Lončarjeva hiša), and the House of Culinary Delights (Slovenian: Hiša kulinarike). The village of Filovci used to have at least one potter at almost every house. Today, the pottery village of Filovci is the only place that still preserves the tradition, craftsmanship and the art of pottery – all this is on display for tourists. Learn about the nearly forgotten craft and see how a pottery kiln works.
In the past, people were very familiar with the healing properties of clay. Spin the potter's wheel and allow your hands to form their own story in the shape of a clay pot, jug or vase.
In the Pottery Village of Filovci you will be received by the only family that still preserves the tradition of pottery-making in the vicinity of Moravske Toplice. You can visit the museum of pottery and traditional thatched-roof houses, as well as discover unique images from our past.
You can participate in a pottery workshop by prior arrangement. Guided tours every day at 10 am and 4 pm There is also the option for visitors to take part in painting ceramics.
The Pottery Stories experience includes a demonstration of pottery, so that you may learn about this dying craft and really get absorbed into it as you make your first product on the potter’s wheel. In addition to the pottery workshop, you can also have a go at painting ceramics, which our younger visitors particularly enjoy.
