Sweet Trail

The Sweet Trail is a themed hiking trail that brings together local artisans who continue the centuries-old tradition of gingerbread making and beekeeping in this part of the Goričko hills. It is mainly because of these sugary treats that the trail was named the Sweet Trail. 

At one of the starting points in Ratkovci by the Celec Gingerbread shop (Medičarstvo Celec), you can learn about the family heritage and try traditional gingerbread, gingerbread hearts and other honey pastries.

On the way you can stop at the rest area in Ratkovci, where you can enjoy refreshments and familiarise yourself with the native trees and other fruit species under a trellis, surrounded by the tranquillity of the Goričko hills landscape. You can visit Vidov Brejg organic farm and its herb garden with its comprehensive range of herbal products, look around a watermill, visit a cultural and technical monument from 1930 in Berkovci, and continue to the village of Ivanjševci to pay a call at the exceptional and colourful Kozic beehive, as well as treat yourself to homemade products. Stop and take a break, so you can more leisurely return to the starting point in Ratkovci, and experience the landscape of the Goričko hills on the Swamp Trail in Lončarovci, where the surrounding natural landmarks, wetlands, tree and shrub species, animal life, and the cultural and historical features of the village of Lončarovci can be seen. A guided hike on the trail is also possible by prior arrangement.

The trail partly runs along the Pomurje Hiking Trail.
